Great tutorial mate. Definetly going to be using this tutorial as a reference from now on.
Any ideas how to do a firey dead earth type of landscape? Is it similar to taking a map of the sun and doing the same process?

At step 7, when I deselect the Land Shapes and the Land Texture blurred, it just shows the land shapes. I've tried the step multiple times, but it continues to stay on the land shapes. I think it may have to do with when I auto-blended the layers to create the texture, they didn't become a single layer, they stayed separate.

You have to merge the layers after you "auto-blend" them. Tell me if it worked.

I did. But both layers already had masks, so when I merge them, it asks if I want to preserve the mask of the layer below or create a new one.
